Auth Or Epp Code / Registry Key

The EPP / AUTH Code is basically a password for a domain name. It is a security measure, ensuring that only the domain name owner can transfer a domain name. You will need it if you want to transfer the domain to another registrar.

When transferring a domain name between registrars or changing the ownership of a domain name, you will be asked to provide a Domain Authorisation code. A domain authorisation code can also be referred to as an auth code, an EPP code or a domain password. Depending on what type of domain you have, the steps to obtain your domains authorisation code may differ. The instructions below outline how to obtain your domain authorisation code.

Australian Domains (com.au, net.au, org.au, asn.au, id.au)

  1. Visit https://pw.auda.org.au/
  2. Type your domain into the “Domain Name” text field
  3. Click “Query” to see “Registrar of Record” and “Contact Email” address.
  4. Click “Email” to have the auth code sent to the contact email address.

If the ”Contact Email” is not correct, then contact the “Registrar of Record” to request assistance.
